Healthy food is awesome as I find it always leaves you feeling so good and energised, however, there is one downfall…it’s usually pretty BORING!
Yes, boring, as healthy food can usually seem pretty bland, lacking flavour and any creativity. That is why, we at Feel Good & Co, have found you two Feel Good Recipe’s. One to create with your Moringa Tea and the other to have alongside your tea, making your healthy living a lot less boring!
So let’s get started. The first recipe is quick and easy and courtesy of Superfoodify.com. I call it Moringa Tea with a Twist! (The twist being that it’s Ice Tea)
What you need:
1 tea bag of Moringa Oleifera Tea by Feel Good Health and BIO-SIL
Lemon
Honey
Mint leaves
Ginger
Warm water
Step 1: Put your tea bag into a small pot or tea pot and add warm water. Let it steep for a while.
Step 2: Halfway through steeping, the site recommends about 5 minutes, add your lemon slices and ginger wedges and let it steep some more!
Step 3: Remove your tea bag and add honey. (You can add as much as you want depending on your own taste.)
Step 4: Pour into a glass, add ice cubes with a slice of lemon and some Mint leaves.
Step 5: Sip and ENJOY!
Note: If you prefer hot tea, you can ditch the ice cubes and have it warm, even adding a drop of milk for some extra favour!
So now that we have the drink down, let’s get to some yummy food!
So a lot of the recipes I have found that incorporate Moringa have a lot of either Middle East or Mexican inspiration, this being that they involve creating curry or guacamole etc. Now as I said above, I want you to have a recipe to have alongside your tea, so it’s not too boring and also so that you are not overwhelmed by too much Moringa (which I don’t think is possible, but just in case!) Therefore, I have found the perfect recipe to have with your tea…Stuffed Zucchini Taco’s courtesy of evolvingtable.com! With a 656 calorie count, this is perfect for Lunch or Dinner.
What you need:
2 Tbsp butter or olive oil
1 bell pepper finely chopped
1 sweet onion finely chopped
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
1 lb ground meat (beef, turkey, venison, or ground tofu for vegan*)
2 c mixed cheeses* divided (Cheddar, Colby Jack, Mozzarella, or vegan cheese)
4-5 zucchinis ends cut off, cut in half lengthwise and insides scooped out
Green onions chopped (optional)
Seasoning Ingredients (Optional):
1 Tbsp cumin
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp chili powder
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
Now for the fun part…how to make it! (Guys, I know this may seem a bit daunting, especially for ‘non-cooker’s’, but I am really not the best chef, like at all, so everything listed here is ‘Non-Cook friendly’!)
12 Easy Steps:
-
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
-
Sauté bell pepper, onion, ½ t. salt and ¼ t. pepper in butter for 3-5 minutes over medium heat in a large pan.
-
Combine seasoning ingredients in a small bowl.
-
Add ground meat, or tufu, and continue cooking for an additional 7-10 minutes.
-
When meat is almost done cooking, drain liquid from pan and add seasoning ingredients. Continue cooking until meat is completely cooked through.
-
Turn off heat and mix in 1 ½ c. mixed cheeses.
-
Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and place zucchini boats on it (cut-side up).
-
Drizzle a bit of olive oil and sprinkle salt on the inside of each boat, for seasoning.
-
Scoop even amounts of meat mixture into the 8-10 zucchini boats.
-
Cover boats with a sheet of aluminum foil and cook for 15 minutes.
-
Remove aluminum foil and continue cooking an additional 10-15 minutes, or until zucchinis are completely cooked.
-
Top each boat with about a tablespoon of cheese and return to oven for 1-2 more minutes to melt cheese. Serve with chopped onions and enjoy alongside your Moringa Tea!
So that’s all for today. Two easy, delicious, healthy Feel Good recipes made with and for our Moringa Oleifere Tea by Feel Good Health and BIO-SIL!
